INTERVIEW STEREO CUPID (en anglais)

Interview Stereo Cupid

Formed in Camden Town, the iconic cradle of London’s rock scene, Stereo Cupid embodies a
new generation of British rockers. The band — Raph (singer), Luca(guitar), Match(guitar),
Bruno(bass)and Zach(drums) — overflows with energy and raw intensity, blending
provocation, passion and a fearless taste for excess. With no pretenses, they fully embrace their
madness, their passion and their freedom. Sensation Rock sat down with them for an interview
as offbeat as their universe, mixing humor, excess and sincerity.

SR: You formed Stereo Cupid in Camden Town with a bold vision. What does the name represent
to you, and how does it reflect your musical identity?

SC : Its Romance and Sex, played through loud music. It’s like an old radio that is too loud, that sounds
broken, and its sex and love through that old horrible speaker. And the naughtiness that Cupid gets up
to. The naughtiness of Cupid.

SR: Your live shows are known for their energy and authenticity. How do you ensure that your
stage presence matches the intensity of your music?

SC : We get really, really drunk. We get fucked up before we play. We get really drunk.
Before, during and after. Mainly during. I think we beat some sort of record for drinking in the time
we’re on stage. It’s just sheer English passion. We love this. It’s passion, alcohol and drugs mixed into
a beautiful live performance. “Voilà.”

SR: So how did you meet?

SC : We met because we’re all degenerates in London, who like to party. Some of us are from Manchester,
Raph and Mach. But we all met in Camden. And we all met through the love of a fucking good party.

SR: You recently released the singles” Mind” and “Wake up” with rather unusual visuals. Can
you tell me about the inspiration behind these tracks and how they have evolved compared to
your previous releases?

SC : This came from a kind of wake-up point, a state of mind. It’s the rawness, it’s a climax of where we’ve
come to as a band. It’s where our energy is peaking and hitting that ceiling and we needed tracks that
match that ceiling when we’re playing live. We needed tracks that evoke sex, evoke drinking. It’s
basically songs that are about adrenaline and going crazy. Going mental. Your mind’s all over the
place. You’re angry. It’s like adrenaline all in one bottle.
Two songs of just adrenaline and anger. They were both songs that were written to be played live.
“Mine” was one of the first songs we ever wrote together. We wrote it a long time ago, maybe two
years ago. It had to sound right.

Match: It’s about that. It’s all about your identity. “Mine” is the song about having a crazy night with
someone you really, really fancy. And they’re messing with your brain. Messing with your mind the
whole time. You just need them to stop but you love it at the same time.

SR: After a successful UK tour in 2024, what are your plans for 2025? Do you have any new dates
or a European tour planned?

SC : The tour was in 2025. In 2026 we’re playing on Mars, Pluto and Venus. We’re going to play at any rally.
Our plan is also the Colosseum in Rome.

SR: What about the Eiffel Tower?

SC : Yeah. Could be fun. Next time we want to play on top of the Moulin Rouge. Like the Beatles did.

SR: Do you have any recording projects in the works? Are you planning to release an EP or a full
album in the near future?

SC : Yes. To all French multimillionaires, give us your money and we’ll make an album. It’ll be a really good
album. J’adore l’album. J’adore la cash (money in French) J’adore la cache. Le cash.

SR: How has your creative process evolved since the band formed in 2023? Have you
experimented with new styles or musical influences?

SC : Whoever is not drunk enough to still be able to play writes the songs at the end of the night. So, whoever
is least drunk writes the songs. So, everyone’s been least drunk at some point. And we’ve all written a
song. So, it’s basically who’s alive at the end of the party.

SR: So, what is the process?

SC : We go into a room, we get very drunk, and then we grab guitars. We just go in a room and make it
happen, honestly. There’s no magical formula to this.

SR: How many songs do you have?

SC : We have ten songs ready to go. We have five out and another ten completed. Fifteen songs.

SR: What are your aspirations for Stereo Cupid in the next few years? Are there any particular
milestones or goals you’re aiming for?

SC : We want to play at the Colosseum. This is our only goal. I know we’re joking, but the Colosseum
genuinely is our biggest… We want to play at the Colosseum.

Match: At the bottom of the pyramids as well. At the Colosseum, dressed as gladiators.
The Louvre. I also want to play on top of the Louvre on the glass.

SR: How would you like your music to be perceived by future generations of rock fans?

SC : We want it to be the party song. We want to make the party music people feel amazing. What we’re
trying to say is we want you to hear our music and instantly feel like you want to go out. You want to
have fun. You want to laugh. You want to hug. You want to dance. We want the music to be the
soundtrack to the best times of everybody’s lives.
Forget all your problems. That’s why I started music. I want to be able to take people in a room and no
matter what’s going on with them at home, no matter what’s going on in their life, when they’re in that
room with us, they’re in it there with us having a party.
